Exactly one week ago today I had my oral boards to become a Psychologist here in Chile, and I passed with one vote of distinction!

I also received news that I am now a member of The British Psychological Society! And I have been offered a place at King’s College London to pursue a Master’s Degree in Early Intervention in Psychosis.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford this program, and I am trying to find every way to be able to cover the costs. Even with my parents’ help (which they have enough on their plates to be helping me out financially), the cost of a Master’s in England as an international student is really high.

I babysit every break from school I get, and teach English during the year, and that’s how I pay for things during the year, but what I’ve saved up only covers the deposit due once I accept the offer, and so far, I’ve spend over £700 on just application and document fees.

What the Programme Costs:

- tuition: £31,350 or $44,250 USD

- living expenses: £1,265 or $1,784 USD a month (according to King’s College London’s website)

- visa: £348 or $490 USD

6 years ago I moved to Chile because I couldn’t afford college back in the States. Today, I’ve been offered a place at the 2nd best school in the WORLD in the field of Psychology, and I can’t afford to pay for it. I don’t want to give up on my dreams twice in row.

I am so passionate about Clinical Psychology, mental health, and working with children, and this is the opportunity of a lifetime and it breaks my heart to think that having been offered a place, I won’t be able to accept it because of money.

if you can help in any way - by sharing or giving me advice on scholarships I could apply to, I would be eternally grateful.

I started a GoFundMe page, and if you can donate anything, or even just share, I would really appreciate it. https://gofund.me/45a63e4c

much love,

Maca
